I’ve always been an advocate of learning from the success of others. Why try to be a pioneer when others have created the path?

When you’re starting out as an entrepreneur, you may not know where to begin. Thus you turn to the internet to look for answers. Well, you did if you were like me.

In recent times, I went back to scouring websites to find useful information that’d help Become The Lion and myself become more knowledgeable.

While there are tons of website out there, it’d be hard to stay on top of every single one of them. You could spend your entire day reading blog posts. And remember, time is one of the most valuable commodities and you need to spend it wisely.

With that said, I read blogs that give me practical information on how I can improve my life or business after reading their article.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to grow their online business or just someone who wants to improve their life, there are six blogs every successful entrepreneur should bookmark.

To clarify, this list is no particular order.

Melyssa Griffin

Melyssa Griffin is the founder of What caught my attention upon first going to the blog is how personable Melyssa is.

Each of her articles gives practical information on how you can improve your business. To be more specific, Melyssa talks about the power of creating a webinar and using Pinterest to your advantage.

She was the reason I’ve been so interested in developing a following on Pinterest. With Facebook, you have to pay for your advertisements. On Google, the competition is tough. But with Pinterest, you can drive traffic back to your site for free.

While going through Melyssa’s blog, she gives you great ideas on how to get more subscribers for your email list.

With all but one blog I will mention, Melyssa keeps an income report on her website. It’s insanely helpful to go onto someone’s blog and see they have an income report. You can see where they’re getting their revenue from and you can decide if there’s something you can add to your site to generate more money for yourself.

Melyssa is keen on teaching bloggers and online entrepreneurs how they can make their passion profitable.

She pulls back the curtain and allows you to see how she’s been able to grow her business.

Melyssa is passionate about her blog and helping others succeed in the online world.

Create and Go is founded by a couple, Alex and Lauren. Before coming across their blog, I came across their YouTube channel. Alex and Lauren made over $100,000 in their first year of blogging through their blog:

With their blog Create and Go they teach you how they built their blog and generated revenue through it.

Alex and Lauren also have income reports, allowing you to understand where they make their money.

What I like most about Alex and Lauren is how much they want to help others build a successful business. I’ve learned a great deal about building an online business from reading their blog.

From their blog, both Alex and Lauren quit their full-time jobs.

They show you how they built their blog and how you can do it.

Alex and Lauren give you practical information you can implement into your business and see results.

Not only have they built one successful blog, but two.

If you’re someone who’s looking to gain a better understanding of how to build an online business, check out their blog.

Making Sense of Cents was founded by Michelle Schroeder-Gardener. This is a phenomenal blog. It’s a must-read for anyone who wants to improve their finances.

Like most students coming out of college, Michelle was heavily in debt. She takes you through the process on how she was able to pay off her student loans.

Michelle does income reports on her blog and she’s on pace to do over $1,000,000 in revenue this year!

Like Melyssa Griffin, Michelle will tell you how she built her business.

With Michelle’s blog, you’ll learn how to save money, make extra money, pay off your debt and even travel tips.

What I like most about the blog is that Michelle shows how you can travel the world and build a business and not even a small business, one that allows you to live comfortably.

For any millennial who’s looking to change their life, you’d go wrong if you didn’t read Michelle’s blog.

I’m a huge advocate for getting your finances in check. It’s a subject they don’t teach in school. Through Michelle’s blog, you’ll gain a better understanding of how you make the most of each dollar that comes into your hand.

Michelle talks you through the mistakes she made as a first time blogger and what you can do so you don’t make the same mistakes.

I’m excited to say we will have Michelle on our Become The Lion podcast within the next few weeks.

Michelle makes it easy for you to start and monetize your first blog!

Average 2 Alpha was founded by Chad Howse. Chad’s blog teaches you how to become a better man in your everyday life.

What I like about Chad’s blog is that he tells you how things should be.

With his writing, Chad takes you back to the lost art of what it means to be a man. My favorite articles are: 21 Things Modern Men Need To Stop Doing and 9 Mental Changes Every Boy Needs To Become A Man. I believe our society has lost its toughness and grit. Chad will constantly remind you how to reclaim your toughness and grit.

Chad doesn’t act like he’s better than anyone else or he’s the perfect representation of what it means to be a man, rather he takes you through the struggles he’s had on becoming a man.

I make it a goal to read each of Chad’s blog posts he puts out on his blog. They’re thought provoking and allow you to question the way you were raised.

He also has the blog: Chadhowsefitness. There are similar articles posted on each blog, depicting on how to become a better man.

Chad’s mission is to allow each of us, in our own right, to become legendary.

The majority of society is average. They are okay with mediocrity. Through his blog, Chad tells you why it doesn’t have to be that way.

If you’re looking to improve your life and become a stronger and more grounded man, read Chad’s blogs.

Smart Passive Income was founded by Pat Flynn. Pat’s blog is similar to Melyssa Griffin and Making Sense of Cents in which he helps others build an online business.

Pat teaches you how you can make passive income through your online business.

He also shares his income reports. The income reports that Pat shares are detailed. He wants you to know where he makes his money.

Pat’s website is simple and doesn’t overload you with so much information. It’s easy to navigate and to find articles that will help you.

No matter who you are, Pat wants to help you become successful. He shares every piece of valuable information he knows that’ll help someone else.

If you don’t understand passive income or how to generate passive income for yourself, then you need to check out Pat’s blog.

Pat lost his job unexpectedly and needed to figure out a way to create a source of income in his life again. It through passive income that Pat can live the life he pleases, and he shares with you, through his blog, how he was able to accomplish such a feat.

When looking to create an online business that will help you create a passive income stream, read Pat’s blog first, it will make a world of difference.

Entrepreneur on Fire was founded by John Lee Dumas. John started out podcasting and has grown his business in multiple ways since then.

John is the host of the EOFire podcast. The podcast is ranked as one of the best entrepreneurial podcasts.

I first heard about John on the Startup Camp podcast with Dale Partridge and have been following him ever since.

As with the entrepreneurs mentioned on this list, John also has an income report. His income report allows you to see where he makes his money besides podcasting, and trust me, it’s a lot. How much? His March income is $490,641. That’s not too bad…

John is a great guy and wanted to help you succeed in business and podcasting. We had John on our Become The Lion Podcast: Mastering Your Finances. We discussed how John manages the money he makes and he held nothing back.

John’s down to earth and will teach you how you can create a successful business and leave your 9-5.

If you’re looking to learn how to create a business, achieve your goals and live a life of your choosing, check out John’s blog!
